The California Central Valley is a unique place filled with deep challenges and also great opportunities. It is important to understand that people, policies, and systems occur within the specific context of this place- a cookie-cutter approach will not do!

Tania Pacheco-Werner, PhD is a medical sociologist working and living in the California Central Valley. She was born in Mexico City and grew up in the Central Valley and is a Fresno State alumna (B.A. in Sociology, Minor in psychology, Cross-Cultural Competency and Humanics certificates).  She received her PhD in Sociology from University of California, San Francisco.
